The Macau Business Tourism Centre, which was opened on 18th April of 2006, serves to establish a platform for the business tourism industry to communicate, to understand the needs of the local industry and strengthen the liaison work among the trade. This Centre is an interactive unit that solicits the views of trade and civil associations to achieve common goals, and will conduct training courses and exchange activities as well as relevant studies and market analysis, industry support, research, training, bidding and management of event and special projects.
It includes an information counter and a gallery on the ground floor, a computer research centre and a library on the first floor, marketing, industry support, research, training and bidding units on the second floor, an events and projects unit on the third floor, with a video and slide archive on the fourth floor.
The mission of the Macau Business Tourism Centre
- Work under the guidance and supervision of Macau Government Tourist Office/MSAR Government;
- Define Macau's main strategic orientation in relation to different competitive destinations in terms of Business Tourism (MICE);
- Accelerate Macau's entry into the world and position it as the new, vibrant, appealing and exciting destination for the international Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions and Events Industry;
- Integrate both public and private sectors to produce competitive offers/packages/products;
- Market Macau externally and internally as a Business Tourism Destination;
- Promote local suppliers by acting as the point of contact to ensure a high standard of service is provided to clients.
The main role of the Macau Business Tourism Centre
- Educate Industry and Public on the importance of Business Tourism;
- Promote Macau as a Business Tourism destination;
- Serve as link between supply and demand;
- Assist local entities in submitting bids for events;
- Provide and gather related information in Macau and abroad;
- Organize education and training programs for both public and private sectors;
- Conduct information collection and market research.
